47 Days to Go - Refashioning a Dress

Goodwill Dress

Many people who know me, understand that I am one of those people who will wear used clothing. I love going to Goodwill, and searching for dresses that people have outgrown or thrown out, and it is basically how my wardrobe has come to be: hand-me-downs, yay!

Found this dress the other day, and I saw some potential in it:

It was really big on me, the waist was too low, and the hem was too long.

So I cut it above the waist, and took it in a few inches.

I put it on my dress form (forgot about taking pictures) to add the skirt back.

I had to take in the skirt a lot (had to take the pockets off and re-add them too, which was a pain).

After that lovely process, I pinned the skirt to the top, and sewed it all again.

Finished edition: A Summer Sundress!

I'm ready for that warm weather, i.e. tomorrow since it is Louisiana.
